IQ in Italy! It already
happened in 1994 (Cusano Milanino) and in 1998 (Vigevano) . After many
vicissitudes we arrived at 6 p.m. at Thunderroad, where we met other
fans which waited for the opening of the box-office in the cold.
Finally we went into Thunderroad
at 8 p.m. It was all OK; the beer kept us company until the start of the
show. |
 |
Immediately we realized
that IQ were in good shape; the start was wonderful, with Outer Limits
and The Darkest Hour. Then, they played Erosion from the
new album The Seventh House: an high-level song!
IQ alternated old and new
songs, with Wurensh, The Seventh House and State of Mine. |
 |
 |
Then they played The
Magic Roundabout and Failsafe: sounds just great! IQ were relaxed
and played better with respect to their gigs in Yverdon (1998) and Tilburg
(1999), where they played Subterranea songs…
…Guiding Light and
Human Nature came before a wonderful The Enemy Smacks; we
shuddered all over! A worthy end for a big show! But it was not all over! |
| IQ came back to play Subterranea
(with a reggae section to introduce the band), Camedown (cha
cha cha version) and in the end the classic Awake and Nervous and
The Wake. |
 |
The whole show was wonderful,
at high level; It was difficult to find imperfections. As usual Paul, Mike
and Martin played very well, but Peter and John was at high level too.
We spent the rest of the
night drinking beer and taking photograph the members of the group. Really,
we already waited for the next IQ show! |
